TREADING THE DANGEROUS PATH

“ 1. My son, pay attention to my wisdom, lend your ear to my understanding

2. That you may preserve discretion, and your lips may keep knowledge

3. For the lips of an immoral woman drip honey, and her mouth is smother than oil.

4. But in the end, she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two edged sword.

5. Her feet go down to death, her steps lay hold of hell.

6. Lest you ponder her path of life, her ways are unstable, you do not know them.

7. Therefore, hear me now, my children, and do not depart from the words of my mouth.

8. Remove your way far from her, and do not go near the door of her house.

9. Lest you give your honor to others, and your years to the cruel one

10. Lest aliens be filled with your wealth, and your labors go to the house of a foreigner,

11.  And you mourn at last, when your flesh and blood are consumed,

12. And say, how I have hated instruction, and my heart despised correction!

13. I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my year to those who instructed me.

14. I was on the verge of total ruin, in the midst of the assembly and congregation.”

                   Proverbs 5: 1 -14

Our present world is filled with various side attractions that may cut short a man’s life. Wine, Women, Money are the popular factors our society circumference on.  This has turned immorality into normalcy and the right thing to do. So many marriages have been destroyed, many families have been scattered and the number of irresponsible children have grown immensely.

A family is a unit of the society and if a family is not in accord, divorce is inevitable. The father as the head of the family plays a very important role in the maintenance of the family because the father is the foundation of the family. The mother stand to be a keen supporter to the father in upholding the foundation of the family and without the mother the family cannot stand as in without the neck the head cannot stand and the whole body will not function.

But due to the fact that most men and women nowadays are treading the dangerous part, experimenting and flirting around, this has produced destruction to their family and personality. The bible verse quoted above discusses the procedure and consequences of treading on the dangerous path. Any man or woman who is not faithful to his/her partner is treading a dangerous path. At first the path to danger is very sweet, enticing and interesting. The bible quote above, illustrated the process using a deceitful woman as an example. At first, the woman will look so sexy and enticing with all the make-ups, sophisticated accessories and half-naked wears. She will look sweet as honey as the bible described it but in the end, she is death in disguise. Her feet go down to death, her step lay hold of death, she is a very deceitful being and you cannot know or understand her ways. Any man who falls into the trap of such women will experience all or any of the following:

a.       He will be stripped of his honor and it shall be given to others.

b.      All values e.g. reputation, he has gathered over the years will be given to the cruel ones in other words, he shall be mocked by his enemies

c.       His wealth and labor will be transferred to strangers who do not even know when he is gathering the wealth

d.      He will mourn at last

e.      His flesh and blood will be consumed

f.        He will regret bitterly

The same illustration above goes for women who love to flirt around with strange men outside their marriage. The man might start by spoiling you with wealth, strong sexual performance, but the story will definitely have a bitter end,If you are already treading a dangerous path, you can still turn back now. No matter the challenges you have, treading that dangerous path is not the solution. Call unto Jesus today, he is the way, the truth and the life.
