The plight of man is to exploit the weak, poor and ignorant folks around him and reduce them to puppets, serving only his interest. The strong and mighty in almost all human societies have often violated the rights and reduced the privileges of those who cannot challenge them. The result of this unjust treatment is attendant upheavals such as strife, agitations, protests, conflicts and wars which have become common occurrences around the globe today. Social injustice is the root cause of many catastrophes known in human history. Its spiritual effect is more devastating in time and eternity for those who delight in the oppression of the poor and the lowly members of the society. There is a popular adage that says “show me your friend and I will tell you who you are.” This saying is very true. No matter how spiritual you are, 1 Corinthians 15:33 says that  “Evil communication corrupt good manners.”   There are certain friends who would pull you back and there are others who would help you grow spiritually and in other areas of life. Choose your friends wisely. Before I became born again, I had friends with whom I regularly drank alcoholic wines. Then, I met Christ and my lifestyle changed. When my friends visited, I served them non-alcoholic drinks, and before long, they realized that things were different, and withdrew from me. It was painful to lose my friends then, but I let them go because I didn’t want them to drag me back to the world. The life of our Lord Jesus Christ on earth shows us that we can have peace amidst the storms of life. While travelling in a boat with His disciples, having just finished a long session of preaching and counselling for only God knows how many hours, there arose a great storm bellowing against the boat in which they were. The disciples were so afraid that they would die at sea, because it seemed as if their boat would capsize.  Meanwhile, Jesus Christ was fast asleep in the inner chamber of the boat. Today, the Holy Spirit is asking you if your prosperity is built on wickedness.It is dangerous to prosper through wickedness. One of my church members was delivered from being hooked by evil prosperity when he was offered a huge amount of money to defraud his organization. He refused to be part of the deal because he knew the spiritual implication of being unequally yoked with the wicked  (2 Corinthians 6:14-18) . The love of wealth makes a lot of people ignore God’s counsel, with devastating consequences. Such wealth will eventually grow wings and fly away.  Proverbs 13:22  says that a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous. In other words, if you manage to gather wealth by stealing, lying or other acts of wickedness, the Lord is saying that He will take that wealth from you and give it to the righteous. The practice of making New Year’s resolutions goes back over 3,000 years to the ancient Babylonians. There is just something about the start of a new year that gives us the feeling of a fresh start and a new beginning. In reality, there is no difference between December 31 and January 1. Nothing mystical occurs at midnight on December 31. The Bible does not speak for or against the concept of New Year’s resolutions. However, if a Christian determines to make a New Year’s resolution, what kind of resolution should he or she make? Common New Year’s resolutions are commitments to quit smoking, to stop drinking, to manage money more wisely, and to spend more time with family. By far, the most common New Year’s resolution is to lose weight, in conjunction with exercising more and eating more healthily. These are all good goals to set. Silent Pride is a subtle way the devil is snatching blessings from believers.There are many bible verses where God has repeatedly frown on PRIDE.  In the book of James 4:6b, the bible says, 'God resist the proud, but giveth grace to the humble. The devil is the “accuser of the brethren”. It is unfortunate that some people ignorantly posses this attribute of the devil. How can a person be an accuser of the brethren without knowing it? The answer is simple: when you refuse to forgive those who have wronged you, you are passively accusing him or her as an evil doer. The practical implication of refusing to forgive those who have wronged you is that you become a prosecuting witness against a brother or sister. You are therefore on the side of the devil in heaven’s court litigating against your own brethren. It’s  therefore wise to heed the words of Jesus in Mark 11:25: “And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your father also which is in heaven may forgive your trespasses.” Many professing children of God find it difficult to forgive. A lady committed a crime and she was sent to court. The punishment for the crime was life imprisonment. She shed tears for help but to no avail. When the case was called in court she started weeping. Her husband, family and friends who accompanied her started weeping but there was no hope. But something happened. Before the lady could stand in the witness box a man stood up and the court room was silent. Everyone looked at Him. He was noble and gentle.  He stood in the witness box and interceded on behalf of the woman. The case was difficult, yet He used all His strength, energy and resources to fight on behalf of the woman. After a long legal battle between the man and the accusers, the lady was set free. The lady fell before the man and asked 'WHO ARE YOU' The next day the lady deliberately committed another crime and was sent to the same court. As soon as she entered the courtroom, she saw the man who interceded for her the previous day on the judgment seat. ...
